DINING IN, OR OUT?By Eric Matelski Red Rocks Grill has a patio? Yes, Red Rocks Grill has a patio! It is located behind the restaurant and although it is small, it offers a break into the fresh air of Morrison. In the summer of 2006 the smoking ban went into effect in Colorado. Red rocks Grill came up with two solutions. The first solution was put ashtrays out front. That was easy. The second solution was to build a patio. This was hard because of the limited space available. A lot of time was spent on what seemed like an easy task. All the while Owner Ana DeJesus was also trying to finish building new outside coolers. This was important so that even when the hot, dry Colorado summer hit, Red Rocks Grill would still have cool refreshing beer. This includes the Red Rocks Grill signature brew “BPR”. Named after Ana Dejesus the “BPR” is short for “Bitchin’ Puerto Rican”. “BPR” is a light red lager brewed for us by an outside local brewery. This wonderful brew was originated by One Keg Brewery and has been a Red Rocks favorite since 1996.
So if you are reading this from a table inside, consider sitting out on the patio for your next visit. Where you can enjoy a nice cool refreshing “BPR” lager in the Morrison sunshine. MORRISON ATTRACTIONSBy Eric Matelski Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a geologically formed, open-air Amphitheatre that is not duplicated anywhere in the world. With Mother Nature as the architect, the design of the Amphitheatre consists of two, three hundred-foot monoliths that provide acoustic perfection for any performance.
• Everyone here before the show is in a rush. Most of the menu is homemade and may take longer to prepare. It especially takes longer when we are experiencing a high volume of customers. Please ask your server for recommendations so that can get you fed and to the show on time.

REGULARSBy Eric Matelski What are regulars? Maybe you come to the “Grill” more then once a month, or have been coming for several years. Maybe you have a favorite menu item or you come in one day a week because you enjoy visiting with a particular bartender or server. Well all these things would make you a regular. If you consider yourself a regular I would like to personally thank you for your loyalty. You have supported Red Rocks Grill through the years and the changes. Now, come the questions. Who am I and what is my point? Well, I am Eric Matelski. I am the author of the articles in this menu and I was an employee or Red Rocks Grill for almost 13 years. I left my position as General Manager in September of 2007. I have been pursuing my career as an artist and art promoter in Denver. I have been very busy working on commissions, community art projects and helping local non-profit organizations. Now you may ask why am I telling you this? Well I am telling you this because you are loyal customers. Over my years of working here I have befriended many of you. So when I was asked to revise the menu I thought I would take the opportunity to get caught up with all of you regulars. I miss your wonderful conversations and your great company. You are a large part of the success of Red Rocks Grill. I hope to see you all very soon and hope to show my artwork again at the restaurant in the near future. In the meantime I hope that you will all support Electra Hunter as the new General Manager and continue to support Ana DeJesus and the rest of the staff at Red Rocks Grill. All the best
Eric Matelski
THE GRILLBy Eric Matelski Deep in the heart of beautiful downtown Morrison, CO and just outside of the world famous Red Rocks Amphitheater lays Red Rocks Grill. Located at the end of the main strip of town, 415 Bear Creek Ave., is one of the oldest buildings in Morrison. This building was erected in 1875, one year before Colorado became a state. Many businesses have called 415 Bear Creek Ave. their home, but for Red Rocks Grill it has been home since 1994. Owner Ana DeJesus opened the restaurant with partner Gary Torscher. Eventually Ana took full ownership when Gary decided to move on to pursue other business ventures. “The Grill” as regulars have come to call it and 415 Bear Creek Ave., has had their share of growing pains. The building survived the great Morrison floods, and on March 27,2001 “The Grill” survived a fire. The fire broke out in the rafters of the kitchen. After the fire “The Grill” with the help of employees and some faithful customers was rebuilt.
The use of stone, wood, and colors in the décor were chosen to imitate the elements found in Red Rocks Amphitheater.
It is safe to say that Red Rocks Grill at its location, 415 Bear Creek Ave., are here to stay. Also here to stay is the promise to maintain a fun place to visit. So whether this is your first outing here or a return trip, we hope that you find your visit comfortable and enjoyable.
